Remember what it was like to be in middle school? It is often the time when youth need an adult mentor the most. Unfortunately, most volunteers prefer to be matched with younger children.
Big Brothers Big Sisters, with the help of the United Way of Central New Mexico, created the Crossroads program to help match more youth ages 11-14 with mentors. Crossroads provides twice monthly activities for matches to participate. The events cover all areas including community service, math and science, fitness and recreation, education and career development, as well as, arts and culture.
Crossroads is a great program for mentors and youth create life-long relationships that will help the young person develop into a successful adult. Big Brothers Big Sisters facilitates twice monthly activities and help mentors and mentees bond.
