Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport

Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows causes skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. Botox and Xeomin are popular, nonsurgical injections that temporarily reduce or eliminate facial fine lines and wrinkles. The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases, and crows feet near the eyes. Several other areas may also be treated, such as thick bands in the neck, thick jaw muscles, lip lines, gummy smiles, and it will even help with the orange peel texture on the chin.

Botox Cosmetic and Xeomin are a purified substance thats derived from bacteria. Injections of these agents block the nerve signals to the muscle in which it was injected. Without a signal, the muscle is not able contract. The end result is a diminished appearance of unwanted facial wrinkles. The wrinkles on your forehead and around your eyes may become smoother, your brows may be lifted and your eyes more open, and you will have an overall greater relaxed look to your facial expressions. Results are usually seen within 7-14 days. These results typically last 3 to 4 months before another treatment is necessary. Time between treatments may increase with repeated injections and may increase duration of up to 6 months.
