Deseret Ranches of Florida, primarily recognized as a cattle ranch, also engages in diverse agricultural operations across approximately 1,100 acres of irrigated farmland. This land, equipped with center pivot irrigation, supports the cultivation of both specialty and feed crops, including sod and various grains consumed within the ranch. The pivot irrigation method, a cornerstone of our operations, allows for efficient water usage sourced sustainably from the Taylor Creek Reservoir. This system not only supports the growth of crops like cucumbers, wheat, soybeans, black beans, sorghum, and cauliflower but also exemplifies our commitment to environmental stewardship by minimizing water waste and protecting groundwater resources through a closed-loop irrigation setup. Future plans include expanding these irrigated areas to further enhance our agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability.
